Kunstbygningen i Vrå - Engelundsamlingen

In Kunstbygningen i Vrå - Engelundsamlingen you find a unique art collection painted by Svend Engelund, from 1940 and up to now.

Svend Engelund is known for his North Jutlandic landscape paintings and his artistically gifted still lifes and figure paintings.

In the churches of Stenum, Tolstrup and Vennebjerg, all in the North of Jutland, you will find altarpieces by Svend Engelund. Some of his more extensive decorations worth mentioning are the ceremonial hall at Århus Katedralskole, at Vrå Skole and at Frederikshavn Gymnasium.

SVEND ENGELUND

Svend Engelund is represented at museums in Denmark and abroad. In addition to a rich representation of the works by Svend Engelund Kunstbygningen i Vrå also presents works by artists connected with the artist association Vrå-udstillingen, which  is among the most important associations for Danish artists.

Besides paintings, sculptures, arts and crafts, and photography there is an exhibition of architecture by wellknown Danish architects. You may visit Vrå-udstillingen every year in the month of August.

August open 7 days a week from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

From November until February:
Saturdays and Sundays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
